Nerd-Base’s Nerd Babes – Jess

NerdBabesBannerHere at Nerd-Base, we not only appreciate the amazing cosplayers, but we also love the nerdy ladies as well! Not to say that cosplayers can’t be nerdy, or vice versa, but sometimes there’s amazing, beautiful, nerdy women who aren’t into cosplaying, and we want to celebrate them as well!

Meet our very first Nerd Babe – Jess! Not only is she nerdy & gorgeous, but she’s smart, talented, and caring. I first met Jess when I worked at a very popular radio station in Philadelphia (93.3 WMMR, specifically Preston & Steve). We were on a promotions team together, and even did an Avengers themed photoshoot together a few years back (which you’ll see some photos from that shoot in this article)! If this is the droid you’re looking for, read on to find out more about Jess and see some brilliant photos of this Nerd Babe!

Tell us a little bit about yourself:
I’m a travel size quirky girl from West Chester, PA.  I’m passionate about animals, beer, cooking, books and napping (not necessarily in that order). I am not the typical girly girl, but I do occasinally model. I’m currently learning Board Operations at WMMR and hope to one day get on air. I’m scared of spiders, I believe in ghosts and I put Sriracha on almost everything.

What makes you ‘nerdy’?
I have a slight Thor obsession. I recieved a toy Thor for Christmas and have been carrying him around in my purse and posing him at various locations for pictures which I post almost every Thursday (‘Thorsday’ – see my IG @JxExSxS #Thorsday). I also enjoy my fair share of comic book based movies, shows and cult classics. I regularly quote the movie BioDome, and may or may not be the only person who owns the soundtrack.
 Top 3 favorite comic books?
First would have to be Johnny the Homicidal Maniac because I love the dark inappropriate humor of it. Second would have to be Squee for the same reason. Third would have to be Batman. I’m drawn to his character because I like the human aspect of it. That lack of supernatural elements make it more relatable.

Do you go to a lot of conventions? What’s your favorite part about attending conventions?
I only went to my first convention recently. I went to Comic Con in Philly, which I really enjoyed. I loved people watching. I didn’t dress up and don’t think I would, but I loved seeing all the intricate costumes.

Have you ever cosplayed?
I’ve only ever cosplayed once. I modeled for an Avengers photo shoot in which all the models posed as Thor, Iron Man, Hulk and Captain America.
MFK (Marry, F**k, Kill): Tony Stark (Iron Man), Peter Parker (Spider-Man), Bruce Wayne (Batman):
Oooo I love this game! I would marry Tony Stark (Ironman), F*** Batman and Kill Spiderman. I really hate spiders.

What is your favorite Sci-Fi/Fantasy TV show?
My favorite Sci-Fi show would have to be Walking Dead. I love how realistic and heart wrenching it is. Damnit Carl!

What was your favorite cartoon growing up and favorite cereal to eat while watching it?
Ren and Stimpy was my favorite cartoon growing up. It was most often accompanied by Fruit Loops.

The Doctor offers you one trip in the Tardis! Where/When do you go & why?
I would take the Tardis to meet Jim Morrison in California in 1966. I love The Doors, specifically Jim Morrison and would have given anything to meet him.

Finally, Star Trek or Star Wars?
Clearly Star Wars! I love all the characters (especially R2D2 and Chewbacca). And really, who doesn’t want to know what happen a long time ago in a galaxy far far away?!
