Review: Double Dragon Neon
When I was a kid I remember going to a local store and dropping quarters anytime I could, to play Double Dragon. It was pretty much the quintessential beat-em up genre game of the 80’s Like any great 80’s game, they made a horrible 90’s movie loosely based on it.
While at Pax East this year, I was getting ready to leave, and walked by Double Dragon Neon. Continue reading
Want a free dozen Krispy Kreme donuts on 9/19/2012?!
Who doesn’t!?
I’m going to start by saying Nerd-Base.com is not, whatsoever endorsed by Krispy Kreme (seriously though, that would be rad…one day the site will be big enough…maybe). Also, I am not a fan of the pirate fad. What self-respecting geek doesn’t love tasty junk food and coffee? Anyway, I do love their donuts and signed up for the mailing list because they often have fun specials like this. This is seriously pretty ridiculous and I just had to share.
So, because I find this so amusing, if any of you decide to go the full-blown pirate route, and go to a Krispy Kreme all dressed up, send me pictures and I’ll post it on the site and link to your blog/twitter/ect just because that’s kind of awesome.
Have fun!!
Late to the Party: Alias (the comic series)
Alias: Ultimate Collection Volumes 1 & 2
Written by Brian Michael Bendis – Art by Michael Gaydos
(28 issues originally published between November 2001 and January 2004)
A couple of years ago I picked up the two Omnibus editions of Bendis’ run on Daredevil. I absolutely devoured them and was salivating for more. It is easily one of the best runs of comics I have ever had the pleasure of reading. In my search for more I kept coming across mentions of Alias. Other writers and people in the industry would sing the praises of this Eisner nominated comic. It got to the point where I felt I couldn’t read an article about Brian Michael Bendis without Alias being brought up.
Recently I decided to see what all the fuss was about. Continue reading
Review: Mark of the Ninja
Mark of the Ninja is a new XBLA (Xbox Live Arcade) game by Klei Entertainment. Klei brought back the similar artistic style, and gameplay that they are known for in games like Shank, but they added stealth into the mix. Instead of Shank’s run and gun gameplay, you have to think more, and puzzle your way out of a situation. Continue reading
