Bones Says Good-Bye After 12 Years

This is the year of farewells. Bones has come to an end.

From the Wikipedia page:

Created by Hart Hanson, the series is very loosely based on the life and writings of novelist and forensic anthropologist Kathy Reichs, who also produces the show. Its title character, Temperance Brennan, is named after the protagonist of Reichs’ crime novel series. Similarly, Dr. Brennan in the Bones universe writes successful mystery novels featuring a fictional forensic anthropologist named Kathy Reichs. Buffy’s Scooby Gang Reunites 20 Years Later

Entertainment Weekly has reunited the Scooby Gang 20 years later. The whole cast looks absolutely amazing. As Joss Whedon says, “This is surreal. For the most part, this is like a high school reunion but much worse because they all still look so great. I was hoping some of them would puff out a bit. But that did not take place.” Maybe they are all really vampires?

This show really does Continue reading

Beauty: The STD You Want

Beauty_JeremyHaun
Modern society is obsessed with outward beauty. What if there was a way to guarantee you could become more and more beautiful every day? What if it was a sexually transmitted disease? In the world of The Beauty, physical perfection is only one sexual encounter away.

I am in love with “Beauty” by Jeremy Haun. My local comic book shop even knows me by name now because I can no longer wait months for the next trade paperback.

TheBeauty_01-1The artwork is absolutely gorgeous. Also, the story is intriguing. The stories center around a new STD known as “The Beauty” – a STD everyone actually wants.

When you go unprotected with someone with the disease,  the next morning you wake up absolutely gorgeous. Your fat burns off, you look more youthful, your skin clears up … let’s just say: you’re drop dead model gorgeous. You do run a bit of a fever but you have a higher metabolism so on top of looking incredible, you can eat whatever you want to. That alone makes me even want to get this.

But within a few pages of the first issue, you realize there is a big drawback to this disease – one that Continue reading

Beauty, Beast, and the 4DX Theater

beautyandthebeast

After months of hearing about this new 4DX Theatre experience, I finally got my tickets to see “Beauty & the Beast” hoping that the scene with “Be Our Guest” would include a lot of scents of croissants and freshly baked goodies. Sadly, it didn’t.

At $30 a ticket, the price may seem a bit steep but it is the novelty you are paying for. You are able to reserve your seats ahead of time and there is an option to turn off the water spray (but why bother). The movements of the seats were not jerky but incredibly smooth and flowed great with the film without taking you out of it. Air blew in your face at the right times but the water felt forced. When it was raining, a spritz of water hit your face and then that was it.

Riverdale: Who Killed Jason Blossom?

Riverdale Cast

For years, people asked, “Who killed Laura Palmer?” Now on the CW, it’s all about “Who killed Jason Blossom?”

The CW has taken the sweet characters from Archie that we all grew up with and added a bit of noir and darkness to it. This is not the Archie cast you once knew.

Jughead is now the brooding narrator of the story with a bit of a love story brewing. Archie is an aspiring musician and seems quite the ladies man. Veronica is actually less bitchy and spoiled while Josie and Cheryl come off as more of the mean queens of Riverdale. Betty has a bit of a dark episode, almost boiling a fellow student to death. Miss Grundy is now a vivacious, young music teacher in the high school with a sexual appetite of her own. Continue reading
