I was expecting worse, but this looks decent. But, at the same time, I don’t want to get my expectations up. Burn me once, Fox, shame on you, burn me twice, shame on me…..you’ve been doing better, but I don’t want to be burned again.

Review: Total Confusion 2013 (Gaming Con)
Total Confusion is my favorite gaming con. It is pretty much a 4-day pure gaming convention made up of a good number of board games, RPGs, LARPs, card games, and table top model strategies. There is also a small vendor area, some panels, a video game room, a video showing area, and some performances. There is even a listing of old-school RPGs for geezers like me. I try to hit this con every year. This year’s con (27 years and going) ran from February 21-24, 2013 in Mansfield, MA; I attended on Saturday.
If you pre-reg you can usually get into the games you want. I never have the forethought to do this but one can still always find interesting things to try. Actually, one of my great enjoyments is Continue reading
Comic Book Covers 11/14/2012
This was a pretty dang big week for comics. We get 4 new Marvel NOW! titles released, and the conclusion of Ultimate Comics’ “United We Stand” storyline. On the DC side we get the latest chapter of Scott Snyder’s “Death of the Family” Batman crossover. Let’s get to some covers.
All New X-Men #1
Cover by Stuart Immonen, Wade Von Grawbadger, and Marte Garcia
Comic Book Covers 09/12/2012
A few of my favorites from the 09/12/2012 week.
Frankenstein: Agent of S.H.A.D.E. #0
Cover by Alberto Ponticelli
To be quite honest, I didn’t think any DC books would be making this list this month, because I’m not such a fan of the 0 issue cover styles. They’re all essentially the same, just the main character jumping out at you. It doesn’t really give the artist too much to work with. This one I really liked though, it’s an awesome shot of Frank getting ready to mess someone’s day up really badly.
X-Men Legacy #273
Cover by Mark Brooks
This cover is so good, it’s essentially Rogue riding Battle Cat. That’s really all the explanation needed for it being up here.
Captain America & Black Widow #636
Cover by Francesco Francavilla
Francesco Francavilla kicks butts. His work on Black Panther: Man Without Fear was one of the main draws for that book. Combine that with the fact that Captain America is my favorite hero and this one makes the list.
