Community fans, you can finally stop holding your breath! Ever since NBC kicked Greendale and its Human Beings off of the network, us fans have been hoping, praying, doing rain dances, almost anything for another network to pick it up. There was talk for a while that perhaps Hulu or Netflix would pick up Community. It’s been months, and most of us assumed the worst, but it wasn’t until today, not even 10 minutes ago, that I noticed my Facebook page had talk of a sixth season that was being picked up by Yahoo. I almost couldn’t believe it.
Originally, I saw the news on this website, and I did some more research and found it confirmed again on Entertainment Weekly’s site. Again, there’s been a plethora of sites that have posted big news before to later find out that it was debunked or it was just a rumor. I had to know for sure. So, I went to twitter, and low and behold, Mr. Joel McHale himself confirmed it.
Almost 5 thousand reweets and nearly 3 thousand favorites in under 30 minutes. Fans everywhere are cheering and in utter shock. Yahoo had also tweeted out to eager fans teasing the anticipated sixth season.
While brilliant show runner Dan Harmon said, “I am very pleased that Community will be returning for its predestined sixth season on Yahoo, I look forward to bringing our beloved NBC sitcom to a larger audience by moving it online. I vow to dominate our new competition. Rest easy, Big Bang Theory. Look out, BangBus!”
Although it’ll be only available online, I’m sure the sixth season will be DEANtastic! Now, we just have to hold out for a movie and all of our wishes will come true!
