Before the PS4 launched last week, Target and Amazon stepped up and had a Buy 2 Get 1 free sale on their games. For Target it was on all games in stock, not just PS4 games, while Amazon was strictly doing it for the PS4. Now that the Xbox One launch is around the corner (11/22), many of us were hoping for a similar deal. Unfortunately the best deals available don’t even come close to the Amazon/Target deal, even if you include Black Friday. In order to help keep a few dollars in your pocket I scoured the internet to find the best dales for your Xbox One.
ToysЯus
ToysЯus is going to be your best shot at real savings this year, with 2 different sales. The first sale is happening now till the 23rd of November, on Xbox 360 and Xbox One games. If you buy 2 games you will get a $15 gift card, but if you buy 3 games you get a $50 gift card. This is close to a buy 3 get 1 deal, but not quite. This deal isn’t just locked into games. You can also buy accessories and have them count towards the 2 or 3 items, however the accessories have to cost at least $59.99 to count. The Xbox One controller is a blessing and a curse in this situation because it costs exactly 59.99 so it will count towards the deal. It’s just unfortunate that they controllers this generation are so expensive. So, at ToysЯus you should be able to buy 2 games and a controller and still get the $50 gift card.
If that sale isn’t good enough for you ToysЯus has another one on Black Friday. All videogames will be buy 1 get one 40% off. It doesn’t mention accessories as part of the deal so I don’t think you will be able to apply the deal in the same way. ToysЯus opens up at 5PM on Thursday to start their Black Friday sales, but it also looks like ToysЯus may have the deal available online starting at 12:01AM Thursday morning, so you don’t have to go out and brave the lines. If you’re impatient like I am, waiting for games to come in the mail can be hard.
Walmart
Walmart starting launch day at 8AM will have a few games for $49 instead of the typical $59.99. The games include:
- Call of Duty: Ghosts
- NBA 2K14
- Need For Speed Rivals
- Battlefield 4
*UPDATE*
Walmart has EVERY Xbox One game on sale at $49, not just the ones that were previously listed.
Microsoft Store
If you pre-order any of the following three games, for their website you will get a $10 gift card:
- Dead Rising 3
- Ryse Son of Rome
- Forza 5
I’ve participated in these type of deals before with MS, and it took a few extra weeks to get my Xbox card after my pre-order came in.
Best Buy
Best buy is having a deal where you can get a $25 Reward Certificate if you buy 3 Xbox One titles on their website.
The best deal?
Unfortunately most of these deals are pretty weak when compared to the Buy 2 Get 1 sales from last week, but I think the ToysЯus sales are going to be the strongest of the bunch. The black Friday Buy 1 Get 1 40% off deal is the best bang for the buck, but it means having to wait until the Friday after the console launch. For actual launch day deals, your best bet seems to be the ToysЯus Buy 3 get a $50 gift card , but that just means you have to buy more from ToysЯus later. The Walmart deal is ok, but it’s limited to a few games.
If there are any deals I missed please let me know. I’m always looking to save money :).
