….FINALLY….
After months of teasers and weirdly short snippets attempting to look “?”, Ghost In The Shell finally has a full teaser, showing us a bit more about what to expect from this controversially cast film.
As expected, it’s looking like
we’re in for more of a departure from the original animated film, which was to be expected. It’s unfortunate since most of what I found intriguing about the 1995 film was the philosophy behind what it means to be alive in a world where everyone is attached to a network. Alas, I’ve seen no mention of the Puppet Master character anywhere. Ah well, the 1995 film was a departure from the manga, and most of the subsequent films and animated series after that has taken some licenses with this franchise, so why not this? Mamoru Oshii (director of the 95 animated version that this is mostly based on) has endorsed it and said he’s enjoyed what they’ve done so far. There’s some cred.
The film stars Scarlett Johansson, Pilou Asbæk, Takeshi Kitano, Juliette Binoche, and Michael Pitt. It will be released on March 31, 2017 in 2D, 3D and IMAX 3D.
That all being said, here’s the new trailer! What do you think?
Update:I just recieved the poster file! I like it.
